Hee-Soon is a native of Korea. Hee-Soon got her degree in theology at the Methodist Theological University in Seoul. Since then, she has spent a lot of time in the United States doing more religious studies, receiving further training in theology and feminist theology, and received a master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Psychology. Hee-Soon has been a pastor in Methodist churches not only in California, but in Iowa and New York as well. For several years she was a professor at the Methodist Theological University where she first got her religious training. Her husband is now the University president. Hee-Soon has two daughters one of whom graduated from Stanford and the other currently is studying at Harvard Divinity School.
